Minding the Future. Bioeconomy in a Changing Nordic Reality

International conference on bioeconomy and the outcome of the NordBio projects. Bioeconomy in a changing Nordic reality.” The conference will take place 5-6 October 2016 at Harpa Concert and Conference Hall, Reykjavik, Iceland.

During Iceland´s chairmanship of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2014 Iceland decided to put focus on the bioeconomy and developed a priority program called NordBio (Nordic bioeconomy initiative). NordBio is a three-year program (2014-2016) where a broad group of Nordic bioeconomy experts are pooling their efforts in working on several projects promoting sustainable utilisation of the living natural resources, taking into account and integrating social, economic and environmental aspects.

A part of the NordBio program is an international conference on bioeconomy and the outcome of the NordBio projects, under the title “Minding the future. Bioeconomy in a changing Nordic reality.” The conference will take place 5-6 October 2016 at Harpa Concert and Conference Hall, Reykjavik, Iceland.

Our ambition is to offer an informative and inspiring conference and to sow new seeds for the future. The agenda will consist of plenary sessions and interactive breakout sessions dedicated to the theme. Our aim is to attract a broad participation of stakeholders from different sectors, such as scientists, experts, scholars, policy makers, politicians, the public and the private sectors, as well as NGO´s.

Looking forward to seeing you in Reykjavik in October 2016.
