Started: 2020

René Groben

Project Manager

The purpose of this activity is to provide a professional development workshop on algal cultivation and  biotechnology within Europe.

A broad range of stakeholders from students to early career researchers, engineers and entrepreneurs will be informed about the state-of-the-art in research and development, as well as about the business opportunities within the algal industry.

While still in its infancy, the algal industry is rapidly growing both in Iceland and worldwide, with new products, applications and opportunities emerging, and educated and skilled employees and entrepreneurs are needed to achieve its full potential.

The workshop was already held in Iceland, the U.K. and Germany by the project partners in 2018 and 2019 but changed to an online format in 2020.
