Graduations from the UNU-FTP

20 fellows from 14 countries graduated from the six months training course at the United Nations University Fisheries Training Programme (UNU-FTP) on Monday. This is the 18th graduating class and to date 325 fellows have successfully completed the six month training from the UNU-FTP, representing a total of 52 nations.

The UNU-FTP operates in collaboration with academic institutions, private fishing companies, governmental institutions and research firms.  Our Icelandic partner institutes including the University of Iceland, Matís Food Research, the University of Akureyri, the Marine Research Institute, and Holar University, represent a diverse assortment of expertise in field of fisheries.

From the day the United Nations University Fisheries Training Program (UNU-FTP) was established in Iceland, Matís has handled the specialist training in Quality Management of Fish Handling and Processing part of the program.
